problem is that there are 25,000 customers now trying to trade in the same direction at the same (otherwise quiet) times of the trading day. This means that some brokers have taken fright - ODL shut me and a hundred others down - others have widened spreads. Its not the safe option it was before Christmas.

give me a break, 25000 customers, no way. these guys might be good marketers, but not THAT good.

anyway, doesn't matter how many people trade it, the EA is rubbish.

saucebook might have a point actually, if a broker is bombarded with that many people using the same EA. it might piss them off.

It's true that 25,000 purchasers is just the vendors claim, but when you look at the activity level on the private forum it doesn't seem implausible. However, they must have a lot of people like me who have triggered a refund from Clickbank because of performance not matching claims. You only find out after buying that their live forward test accounts were set up with crazily high risk levels. I got fed up of winning pennies for weeks then losing pounds in one swoop.

well the EA has a larger stop loss apparently, so i doubt any EA will make money over a long period if it has a huge stop, but thanks for the info saucebook.

Scalping EA's of this ilk will firstly always perform differently in backtest to how they perform in both demo or live.

This is because the MT4 Strategy Tester uses a method called Fractal Interpolation to effectively "guess" the sequence of ticks in the M1 timeframe.

This renders the backtest results of any EA with a typical profit of less than 20 pips totally unreliable. I think I'm right in saying that FAP Turbo seeks around 4 or 5 pips profit per trade, so any backtest results can't be considered seriously.

Secondly, FAP Turbo seems to make its trades in EUR crosses during thin overnight trade when the market is ranging and not trending. It seems to buy when the M1 RSI dips to about 25 and sell when it rises to about 75 - or something along those lines. This is the approach used by the EURGBP King family of EA's (which are actually free on the internet) and it was also used successfully by a couple of prizewinners in the 2008 ATC.

The problem is that it's OK in demo, but the market has insufficient liquidity at that time of day to be able to accept the live trades that the EA tries to put through.

When you look at an EA, as well as the obvious things like drawdowns and profitability, you need to look at the typical trade duration and the typical profit per trade. EA's trading at bar close of a period of M5 or slower which seek 50 pips+ per trade are likely to be pretty reliable in backtest as long as the modelling quality is good.

actually i've had pretty good results with this EA. up and down some but the past couple of months have been steady up. my settings are a little risky but my results are good. my 250 account is around 400 at this point. i do watch it during the trading times and occaisonally close out trades in profit myself but not at all like a hawk as i used to trading manually. i don't think it's a "scam" at all, it's just an EA that works well under certain conditions and not under others, like most computer programs.

I got my refund by sending email to refund@clickbank.com. You need to provide them the Invoice Number. Make sure your still within the 60 day guarantee.

I tested FAPTurbo when it first came out in late November (I think). At first it wouldn't work on forex.com so they sent me a special version after 2 weeks. It worked fine on demo and made money during the first 2 weeks in December. When the holidays came the forum recommended not to trade during the last 2 weeks of December due to the low volume and higher spreads. The first 2 weeks in January I went live. FAPTurbo averaged about 4-5 profitable trades to each loser. But the loser would kill any profits made. After 2 weeks and being down several hundred pips I killed the EA and got my refund. I thought I'd share that.

I'm sure there are users that are making money with FAPTurbo. I'm just not one of them. I can live with that.

interesting to hear some are making money with FAP, and some are not. I heard there is another EA just like FAP but they claim to be better. It's called Forex Bull Trader (i know, funny name)!!!

But I just checked their site now, and it seems to be down.

Default Fap Turbo performance

Well, I am using the scalper and the longer term mode now for about 2 weeks and the results are bad.
Yesterday I had a huge loss in EUR/GBP of over USD 300 with a 0.2 lot...
The longer term mode for EUR/USD is awfull and even in my demo account lsot it all.

As others say, the system works well for some time with little profits but due to the huge stop loss it looses all the profits. I think i will demand a refund, too.
Thatīs not a professional scalper. I am sure that there are better ones.
Trying currently the Destiny.

Also a good alternative is the FXCM Forex System Selector. Not necessarily scalping, but proven systems availible.

I have used it in a demo and never felt comfortable enough to risk real $. SL is too risky and seems to get stopped out with smaller sl %.

I have haven't found any real profitable EA yet. If any one is using one that is consistent and profitable, I would like to hear about it.

I bought it and after a couple of weeks losing money I sent it back for a refund ... that was about 6 weeks ago ... so ... caveat emptor ...

Default FAP Turbo

I have been running this since march 1.

For me it was profitable until i started to believe too much in it and raised the lot-sizes.

Also, set it to only trade 21-23 for optimal results, if you do so you can add the GBP/CHF and USD/CAD pairs pretty risk-free too. Theese were the most profitable for me.

Now however I have quitted it because it just gives small profits because of requotes / too much deviation on my broker. (Alpari UK).

I read in the newsletter they have changed the default eur/gbp stoploss from 112 to 35. Also I can mention they havent changed any core-algorithm with the latest update, just knocked the standard/pro versions together to one distro so performance should be same if u use same settings as b4.

Fap turbo is one of the oldest Expert advisors that is still very popular to this day. Besides the English version, it is also available in Spanish.
