Hi Steve.

I am not sure what you mean when you say you cannot open the files. (They are indicator files. You don't actually 'open' them.)

Can you download them onto your computer?

If so, have you copied and pasted them into your MetaTrader>experts>indicators folder?

If so, have you opened the Navigator>Custom Indicators window?

If so, have you clicked and dragged the indies onto your chart?

If not, then do it now.:D

Egwig:cool::cool:

ps: If any of the above seems like gobbledegook to you I will explain it further. Just ask.

Hi Emmy

It is generally agreed that the best time to trade cable is from London open, 08.00 GMT to London close 17.00 GMT especially in the first few hours and in the first couple of hours of the New York open, 13.00 GMT .;)

Hi

I have coded a simple EA to implement Marc's system as per post #1 at the top of this thread. However, it's not making much progress in backtesting.

I've attached it, feel free to try it out and adjust it as you see fit. If you find a bunch of settings that work, then please post them back here! Also take care to adjust the time offset correctly for your setup.

Marc- if you'd be kind enough to take a look and see where my EA differs from your manual technique, I'd be most grateful!

Charlie

Hey Charlie...wow that was ages ago that I posted that. Well nice to see that you guys ran with it. It does work, especially with Jurik MA's (very smooth movign average algorithm. I have been profitably trading for many years and am a ten year veteran. Ash is a great guy and he is a lot like myself. He truely cares. I have my own site a http://www.pfxiforex.net and I have all the tools there that you will ever need and a stress free system that is very profitable.

Warmly,

Marc

Hi Charlie,
Thanks for posting this Ema Crossover EA - I have been running it with a few different settings but it hasn't taken any trades where it should. I want it to run 24/5 so what start/stoptimes would I set for that. Have tried 12,24,24,12 and 9,24,24,9 ??
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Jim

Hi

You could set 0,24 for the first start/stop with a 0 GMT offset. The other time settings should not matter.

Let us know how your get on.

Hi Charlie,
EA still doesn't want to take any trades - have been several since made changes. See attached snapshot of GBPJPY with EA settings.
Does yours take trades on a demo account?

Jim

I'm sorry it's not working properly for you. I will take a look at putting some debugging code in; unfortunately, that won't be for a few days due to time constraints. Of course, I have left the source open, so you're free to take a look yourself!
