I want to hear from old hands and newbies alike, hopefully we can learn something on the way. Ash, i'm hoping you'll set the ball rolling!

What's your personal background and how did you get started trading? Do you have a day job? What do you do to unwind?

Whats your approach to trading? Do you use indicators, are you a scalper, do you look at fundamentals, and so on? What trading tools could you not live without?

What was the 'Eureka!' moment that set you on the path from being a losing trader to being a profitable trader? Was it a book you read, a system you found or was it a slow process of trial and error?

What kind of risk do you expose yourself to and what kind of returns do you expect?

My background is in IT. As a kid I used to build & sell computers, and repair them. Naturally I went into IT for my degree, and that's where I first heard of "trading". Obviously in those days it was confined to the big boys. Came out of uni and helped my family's business, (still do actually), and really started looking into trading, specifically Forex about four years ago. What do I do to unwind? Play sports, love my tennis. Listen to music, watch TV, the usual I guess.

I think everyone knows my approach! Love Bill Williams' indicators (AO and AC). I could not live without S/R. If you gave me a naked chart and wasn't allowed to use any indicators, I'd pick and choose my trades based exclusively on S/R.

Without a doubt, my Eureka! moment was the implementation of Support and Resistance into my trading. But just because I realised it's importance, didn't mean I became profitable overnight. It took me months to use and apply succesfully. Knowing that S/R is essential is one thing. Being able to apply it successfully is another.

When I first started trading, I risked tooooooo much and lost thousands of dollars. I look back and acknowledge that my huge losses were an incentive to make me work harder. Today I rarely risk more than 1% per trade. Often under half a percent. As for my returns... Put it this way, if I achieve a 10% return in any given month, then I am over the moon.

I have been trading on and off for about 6 years. Lost a lot of money - but have gained a substantial amount of knowledge. Doing pretty well now.

I've been reading and studying a lot for about a year and a half. I recently lost a bit of money in Forex and realize that I need to learn more. I suspect that my broker was "stop hunting" but I haven't had time to double chech there charts against other feeds to see if it's true.

It's Papia from Bangladesh currently, I am trading Forex and commodities at FreshForex broker, and in the near future, I will trade cryptocurrency.
