Default MBT Satisfaction

Have now been with MBT for one full year. Completely satisfied except for two specific instances... although, they are mine in my opinion... for the time being.
  1. Spread/Commission: Spreads are great, but commissions are too high. Only thing is, is that MBT seems to be the only place for a small/medium sized investor to get all the benefits of ECN and still not have to maintain a large account balance. So, it evens out as far as I'm concerned... but as soon as the acct bal. is sizeable enough I would venture to look elsewhere.
  2. Year End Tax Documentation: I guess it's not really a big deal, but they do not provide you with an end of year document for tax purposes. Again, not a big deal as long as you pay attention and download your monthly statements, but still seems like it should be done on their end.

Aside from that I am satisfied with the overall brokerage service I receive from MBT.

Forgot to add that their DAILY SWAP RATES are probably the worst I've seen... they ultimately cater to the day trader with a -ve swap on nearly every pair they offer. Not all, but most...

Varengold Bank in Germany offers ECN acct. as low as 10,000. Excellent spreads during high volume,and very fast execution, very little slippage. Terrible spreads during low volume as is the nature of ECNs. Solution: ECN for high volume and Market Maker Broker..... dealing desk, for low volume periods.

This is arguably the best broker on the retail market. I have recommended them to so many people, many of the pro equities/futures traders and they all find MBT great and up to the standards of pro features.

Default Very Happy Customer

After almost 12 months of trading with MB Trading and a few test accounts at other brokers, I have finally settled on MB. My experience has been good.not great, but I dont think there is a great broker out there. So in hopes of saving others some time, here are my comments, pros and cons about MB Trading and why I ultimately chose them as my everyday broker for Forex.

Ill start with comments:

I dont want to list the MBT Navigator under cons, because in the end I find it to be a wonderful platform, but the learning process certainly takes a little patience. This platform is not like others that brokers offer, its fully customizable and offers quite a bit of flexibility, plus integrates with a multiple third party systems I currently use. Overall, if you give the Navigator a chance, I think youll come to appreciate its unique design, especially if you trade a lot.
Order Types great choice of order types, but I dont think they offer anything to special, so I wont be listing this as a pro or con.

Pros:

Customer Support they certainly dont fail here. Ive never had an issue in this areafrom the moment I opened my account to a few trades Ive questioned, I always seemed to get a polite and genuinely helpful rep to assist me.
Spreads - I have to assume this is a known benefit of trading with MB, but if not let me remind you. The spreads have been fantastic, especially during the hours of London and US markets times. I typically only trade two or three of the majors, but even looking at some of the non-USD based pairs, the spreads look tight and attractive to trade.
Execution for the most part, its always been on point. Ive had the occasionally slippage or trade fill I had to question, but for the amount of trades I run, Ive been very pleased with the performance.
ECN I personally feel this is one if not the only true active ECN in the forex marketplace at this time. The ability to place limit orders between the spread has been wonderful and a nice addition to my trading style.
Reliability not an issue, platform is up all the time with the exception of maintenance and one or two down times that I can recall in the past 12 months due to technical issues.

Cons:

Charting or lack thereof this is not such a big deal to me, only because Im an eSignal user, but I wanted to cancel my eSignal charts I would have to find another solution as I dont think MBs charts are up to snuff. GrantedI have seen some improvements recently and word from the reps is that they will continue to keep improving and add features to their charts, but the proof is in the pudding for me.
Commission at $5.00 per 100,000 traded, this certainly isnt the cheapest, but due to my volume Ive negotiated a lower rate and am quite pleased with my rate and tight spread combination.
MT4 - I've been waiting to join the beta now for a long time, but I've been told it should very soon now.

Default Amon the best

After trying several brokers, Gain Capital, FXCM, and MG Froex, I settled on MB Trading.

Pros:

- Customer Service is prompt, professional, and courteous;
- Funds transfer is quick and efficient;
- Spreads are generally low;
- Futures, Options, and Stocks are available also on the one platform.

Cons:

- Not much offered for charting
- Platform not OS agnostic; only available for Windows :(
